Within the framework of the VivaGuadua International Bamboo Festival, a high-level inter-institutional panel will be held, bringing together entities from the National Government, academia, and the productive sector to advance the development of guadua bamboo in Colombia.
This space, aligned with Law 2206 of 2022, will address key topics such as:
- strengthening of productive centers
- application of technical standards
- articulation between traditional knowledge and technical knowledge
- development of the guadua market

Viva Guadua begins in:
The vivaGUADUA Festival 2026
It is conceived as a technical, academic and practical meeting focused on the development of social housing solutions through the use of guadua and native materials.
Goals:
The event seeks to bring together professionals, researchers, students and entrepreneurs from the sector to generate applicable knowledge and strengthen the bamboo production chain in Colombia and the region.

Structural engineer with experience in the development of complex architectural projects on an international scale.
He has participated in landmark projects such as Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, providing innovative structural solutions for contemporary architecture.
Gustavo Teneche
Founder – Guadua and Bamboo Colombia
Specialist in construction techniques with guadua and in training processes in sustainable construction.
Promoter of practical knowledge of bamboo through workshops, construction projects and technical learning spaces.

Proposal developed within the framework of their training process, exploring models of collective housing with a social and territorial focus.
Schedule and Activities
The event focuses on sustainable social housing built with guadua bamboo and local materials, responding to the need for dignified, economical and ecologically responsible housing solutions for rural and urban communities.
"Guadua provides Habitat"
The congress includes two days of events:
- Technical presentations.
- Short practical workshops.
- Working group of living ideas that culminates in a contribution on "Guadua provides Hábitat".
- Open marketplace with ideas, products and services related to bamboo.
- Exhibition of designed projects.
Workshop on
Bioconstruction
with Guadua and Earth
Within the framework of the event, an intensive five-day workshop is offered in collaboration with the organization Tierra Magia, where a permanent structure will be built using guadua and earth walls.
