We invite you to participate in a bamboo and earth construction workshop at the Colegio de las Aguas facilities, in cooperation with Tierra Magia.

During this experience, you will explore various techniques and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of constructive architecture with natural and renewable materials, a way of building towards the future.

Five-day Intensive Pedagogical Workshop on Bioconstruction with Guadua (Bamboo) and Earth at the Colegio de las Aguas in Cali.The course is conceived as a theoretical-practical learning journey, where participants work directly on campus on real construction projects, such as a guadua roof for the hallway, as well as earth plasters for some walls of a building, making school spaces sensorially habitable.

The main focus is not on the completion of the works, but on the learning and experience process: participants discover sustainable construction, material cycles and collective collaboration with head, heart and hands.

For five consecutive days, the morning sessions alternate between introductions to bioconstruction, the responsible management of guadua bamboo, and the fundamentals of earthen construction, with practical workshop phases where participants cut, join, mix, plaster, and shape the material. Brief theoretical contributions, dialogue sessions, and collective reflections frame the practical work and connect it to themes such as ecology, community, resilience, and the creation of a vibrant school environment.

The workshop is accompanied by an experienced team of facilitators and assistants, who guarantee both the pedagogical dramaturgy and the technical safety of the construction.

• • Host Responsibilities: Assumes responsibility for providing infrastructure (indoor classroom, bathrooms and showers, workshop areas), necessary materials and tools, as well as food and organization for participants.
  • Responsibilities of Tierra Magia:Provides the complete educational program, planning and coordination of activities, presentations and support materials, as well as technical advice on the design and execution of the planned construction elements.

The goal is for the school to leave the workshop not only with visible construction results, but above all with enhanced competence and motivation for future bioconstruction projects, and above all, for the participants to share and use the experience.
